"Well I am unsure how to think of this type of Peace.  I am also wondering about Japan, Brandenburg, and the Neatherlands in relation to this peace between Austria and New Switzerland."

"Rohan does feel that the Neatherlands should have a rational responce to this action and not move in such a way to make matters in the Pacific worse than they are at present."

"What say the various nations present here this day?"

miketr

OOC That seperate peace includes Brandenburg as before our Prussian / Brandenburg player took time off gave his proxi to Austria.

Gran Colombia believes that the DKB/Austrian & Swiss deal, while unfortunate from an alliance-breaking standpoint, was an inevitable outcome based on the state of the DKB/Austrian war machines.  A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.

GC but views the specific transfer of the NEI to New Switzerland as a case of spite overriding business sense.  However, GC also believes that the Dutch have the right to dispose of undesired territories if it sees fit.

The transfer does create some intriguing geopolitical issues that may take some time to be resolved.

The Confederacy doesn't know what to think...
The Dutch fight a war against the Swiss, and then hand over the very things they were fighting to defend to their enemy because they lost the marginal support offered by two allies that were about to break on their own?

Makes no sense, but the CSA is glad that the Pacific will remain quiet... for a time.

So can we assume the conference is over, and the deals have been done?  If so, what is the end date of the conference?

It sounds like..  Did China make peace with NS and I think Japan is to part of the seperate peace but its not clear...  Also can we confirm the Netherlands sale?  As it sounded possible depending on the seperate peace which has occured.

Well it is going to take some time getting a dutch -swiss treaty translated typed down, as all regencies, soverigen regions, independet regions, integrated communes and kolonial areas have to be signed over one by one.

QuoteThe Middle Kingdom considers itself not friendly concerning New Swiss.
But can't bring war at the NS doorstep, due the defensive structure of the Fleet.
The opportunty given by the pacific war, to eradicate the balefull demonic influences of the New Swiss on the 2 islands of Hainan and Taiwan wasn't to be wasted.  The grant of these 2 islands to Japan is a way to show continued support to the worthy Japanese cause.

The Middle Kingdom didn't even send an observer to the Mithlond conference, because, by the fact that New Swiss demons have proven again and again that any agreements, seize fires or simular are void and to be broken as soon the opportunity arises. Again proving the truth of the ancestors that demons can't be trusted at all. Not even in the knowledge that they will betray any promise, treaty or alliance.

QuoteFurther information from Beijing indicates, if the Dutch are giving away any NEI lands, the Middle Kingdom would feel obliged to repeat the safekeeping of the people in the Netherland East Indies as the Middle Kingdom did for the North Indochinese after the same Dutch betrayed those people.

This is to relay mildly the reaction of the Tiger Lady, Empress Mother Longyu.
