You might get more space by using a Florida-class turret arrangement.

OK I reduced the sieze of the turrets and barbettes increasing the midship space from 173 feet to 207 feet.  Also I am back to 12 midship main deck 150's.  I could as suggested increase the space between Q and X turret, then move back to the 8 lower deck 150's and 10 main deck 150's.

If I am to go for the turbine room between Q and X turrets how much space would people suggest?  Right now its 36 feet between them.

Fish killers! Or are those the dreaded photon torpedoes?

I don't have the time to dig it up, but I remember a Sluggy Freelance strip where Riff is using a nuclear-powered, fish-seeking micro-torpedo as a lure...maybe he's on someones naval design staff here. :D
