Ahoj!
As before, a ship for the Parana station.
Thus 100% coal fired, and with short range.
The enemy, to invest Parana, will have to send battleships. No Great Cruiser can take on this baby.
The 12 incher is Habsburg style, with 1000 lb shells.
Not so great a shooting platform, but the number of shells should do the trick.
Tuesday turret is raised, firing over Monday. Wednesday and Thursday are crossdecking wing turrets. Friday is before the aft mast. Saturday and Sunday are back-to-back aft. I have no idea why SS decided I have a pyramid aft, and Monday and Tuesday on deck level.

An alternative to the above. To make it easier to catch pesky Great Cruisers and Armoured Cruisers which might be sent to Paranese waters by the Enemy, here is a lighter armed proposal. For this end the 11 inch calibre was revived.

5 main turrets all aft? Please say this is a mistake!

Why not build something like RL Dreadnought?

Well, were SS to give him the correct turret layout (Borys, are you sure that you don't have them majority aft?), she'd have four heavy guns forward, and the wings if blast effects weren't too great.

I like it, given how it's supposed to look. A bit big and expensive from a Confederate POV, but it could make hash out of most anything afloat with either caliber main gun...

I'd just hate to be in the same time zone when a shell found one of her many, many magazines. ;)
So 'ere's to you, Fuzzy-Wuzzy, at your 'ome in old Baghdad;
You're a pore benighted 'eathen but a first-class fightin' man;
We gives you your certificate, an' if you want it signed
We'll come an' 'ave a romp with you whenever you're inclined.

Yes, me bad - instead of "aft -> fore" I clicked "grouped aft" - silly me!
She's like the historical ship, but with wing guns, not Q&P centerline, and with no raised turret aft.
The corrected faster version.

It appears that if the majority are aft, SS immediately assumes that the superfiring turret is aft.
Looks like you'll just have to make a not of it in the description and draw the illustration correctly.

Bit too deep and a bit thin main belt. Would that be enough against 13.5" APC shells?

Overkill to base it in a colony if building the support infrastructure would take 5 years and over $60 (lvl 3 port and lvl 3 drydock). Even a BB with 6x11" would make sure that it would need BBs to take the colony (and the enemy would time the attack to happen during a dock stay). For a colony that would not generate that much revenue during the lifetime of the ship its a bit excessive.

Especially as Austria might not get guarantees from France next time. Build ships for the Adriatikflotte, and if you want a battleship there, the Tegethoff is the perfect solution.

And your official gun bore is the 10.8" (French 275mm).

Ahoj!
Sniff ... such a lovely, crazy ships ... all to naught ... sniff ...
I have to build type 3 bases anyway, so that is no problem.

As to the belt - it reaches to the weather deck, thus protecting the thinnish barbettes. Only Tuesday's barebette sticks out above the deck.
Maybe by cutting shell weight to 700 lbs I'll thicken the MB to 12 inches, and thin down the barebettes to 10,5 inches. As the thicknesses are "average", I will claim that the above deck part of Tuesday is 12 inches thick.

Thanks for reminding me about that 275mm calibre.

It might be somewhat short-ranged for something that may chase large cruisers.

Interesting design - is Parana worth something this grandiose?

Ahoj!
It is a 15-20 year investment.
I hope that in this time frame Parana will be edging towards 4M people.

Still, currently nothing ask for more than the presence of the Tegethoff. When it will have 4 million people, it might warrant something more.

Historical Tegetthof?  The Viribus Unitis-class is fairly powerful at this time...also kind of cheap if a few years early and with triple turrets, but I image you can get those more and more these days.

If not that an upguuned (or maybe just equalized) Radetzky-class (historical) would fit the bill?  Make her somthing like a slightly faster version with all 275mm cannon instead of a mixed 12" and 9.4" battery.  While it would only have an 8 gun broadside with all those wing turrets you could always extend the vessel for one superimposed turret and/or drop one set of wing turrets for a larger engine.

(I'm starting to get an image of Fuso with triple 12" guns rather than twin 14" guns.)
