I would think the Lion of Europe at present would be France, unless they are planning to use something else.

Desertfox

QuoteDoes all this mean that I need to identify a national animal for planning purposes?
Sure you do, or at least a symbol like the Rising Sun.

I thought the Lion would be either the Baltic Confederacy or the UNK. France (at least in Swiss circles) is identfied as the Frog. :P

There is a part of a European country using a lion in its shield. Flanders. In this Nverse case, The Netherlands.

Desertfox, it seems you like the French cuisine?

Aha - thanks to Wikipedia, I'll claim the Andean Condor.  Though the Colombian Weasel was tempting, they're rare (historically, that is - not so much in Navalism) and the Condor is, appropriately, a scavenger of the Vulture family.

A Lion is also on the large coat of arms for Bavaria, and part of several other states in "germany" (Pfaltz & Schwaben among others).
