I view it with some irony that the 1914 ICE tech allowed 200hp engines, which is what I chose to develop prior to the 1916 aircraft. However ICE was dropped, which leaves me with 1914 aircraft and their 120hp engines.  Which is why I'm sending the FF29A, since I can't build the FF43 yet, argh

QuoteThen I severely underestimated the speed of my plane.
If you think your plane can go 156 mph (which seems unlikely to me), how fast do you think the Ki-11R (which is a much lighter plane with a much more powerful engine) can fly? o_O

Well, if you want you can get some Ki-11s (+ the 1913/1916 tech if you don't have it) from Japan and use them as base for your FF43. :)

Heh, I think more that it the Ki-11 will inspire Friedrichshaven to build the FF43 that the Ki-11 is derived from (aka I'll have the 1916 aircraft soonish).

Yours a biplane, mines a monoplane, not to mention.... I meant to put 148 mph.

'Soonish' being what? 1919?

Likely finish the tech in 1918 sometime...I hope. At which point I can start on 1918 planes. I should be caught up by 21...I think.

Have fun gentelment but remember I think their are only 3 people who are close to having the Float Plane/Carrier tech right now.  We are all behind the historical curve on airplane speed and development.

Not really. Carriers were mainlydeveloped because of the Washington Treaty limitations on capital ships. Besides, this allows me to create my Blimp carrier. 12 Blimbs per ship.  :)

I presume you mean 1915: floatplanes; flying-off decks for wheeled aircraft ? That makes sense as II/17 is the first possible roll.

Not something for me to worry with until I can send a cruiser out onto the briney deep and say "gee, be nice to see further".

Exactly-

Nobody has floatplanes accept as a Prototype quite yet, all are fully developed aircraft with be Sea Planes.   I expect atleast 2 or 3 Float Plane Prototypes in the Cladera Cup and if they survive the usuall problems associated with a Prototype aircraft I expect they will have superior preformance.  However, with the changes to the aircraft rules in 1916 nobody has floatplanes as a proven tech just yet :)

Well my Carrier tech roll for the end of H1/1917 was successful  and because my BBs are behind schedule (thanks to some GC construction), I can actually finish them like this in H2/1917 with flying-off decks for wheeled aircraft on top of the two superfiring turrets. :)

Also the Carrier tech has nothing to do with the floatplanes themselves and their abilities. It has to do with ships and the ability to operate floatplanes from them. If you do not build ships for them, the floatplanes operate from a floatplane base (which has nothing to do with carriers).

Hmm should I enter with this small "flieger"EVIL LAUGTHER,or am I to early??? 8) 8)

Ok,  Walter I am completely willing to accept your interpretation of the Carrier Float Plane Tech as I was grumbling about back tracking at least 2 years myself otherwise.    So everyone can enter float planes as well as actuall Flying Boats and yes the Float Planes have the edge in speed.  Though it is my understanding that a small mistake on landing could cause the plane to fail that stay afloat for 4 hours after landing. :)
