That is why you try to have more than one friend...if GC goes after the CSA, at least from the south, Rohan can give the CSA a warning.  If they come from Cuba?  90 miles doesn't give anyone much warning, but I'm sure the Confederates have warning systems in that region.

Airships in Florida, and a ont third of a squadron of Torpedo Rams at Key West that always have their engines warmed up. The rest of the ships there just need to raise steam.

A look at her new layout. I stayed with the low freeboard where the torp launchers were to keep the unique profile, and I added a second 3-into-1 funnel in hopes of making the ship even uglier... I don't think it worked. Wound up looking more like the 4-into-1 pipes you see on hot rods.

Updated SS profile in modified first post.

Good work on the pic, incidently.

The ugliness of the funnel won't be obvious as she charges in to attack, and at night, it won't be visible at all - so it's not as much of a passive defence as you might like.

Edit:  For some reason, I was still seeing the original pic until after I posted this response.  Now I'm seeing the two-funnel design, and yes, that may just be enough to deter a would-be aggressor.

Carthaginian

LOL... I didn't want it to be a defense system, Rock... just ugly, like the Japanese cruisers that had them. The second picture is just 'double ugly', but it also screams '1/3 of me is engine, catch me if you can!' That's kind of unintentionally tough looking.

Thanks for the complement on the drawing.
Hopefully, mine'll look as good as yours one day!

One assumes he re-positions his scouting forces to watch the passages between the various islands, sits back to savor his rapidly-dwindling coffee supplies, and awaits my next fiendish move.

Forced to import coffee from Rohan, Mesoamerica or Liberia. Or Brazil. Horrible!

Ahoj!
had I been reading in the morning, I would had snorted Cafe de Colombia through my nose ...

BTW - I wonder should I develop cafe growing in the hot north of Parana. Kaiser Kaffe, or Habsurg Mokka, or Kaiserin Robusta have a nice ring to them, no?

Don't forget that DKB Kenya produces coffee as well. Breakfast of Kaisers!

The CSA might still harbor some small discriminations towards various peoples, despite efforts to the contrary... but there is no prejudice towards coffee of any kind, regardless of it's place of origin.

The CSA has equal opportunities for all coffees!

Just for comparison, here she is in SS3.2b. As you can see, you have an option to set the thickness of the various parts of the protected deck, and the program automatically takes out the tonnage for the torps.

I had to knock the Marconi down to a 10-ton model, but otherwise, she's unchanged:
