Why not make her 1000ton larger and get a ship with 8x30cm guns (and having the same speed and armour)?
I fear a ship such as this will be obsolete before she is finished.

The original design is, to be honest, less insane than I had expected.  I am mildly disappointed.

I'm with P3D on battlecruisers.

The Orange proposal for the rebuild of the Gloire. Complete one, from keel up, keeping nameplate and anchor. Main requirement was that it should look like the original ship on paper if possible (same length and beam, overall layout). So two turrets with 275mm guns, but they would be triples (mounts to be developed by France) as 4 guns are not deemed adequate. 4 more 140mm guns in armored casemates, in exchange for the 47mm guns.
After it became public that the ships were sunk by torpedoes, the costumer insisted on torpedo protection. It could not be helped.

Money isn't the French problem, raw steel is.

Submit your payment proposals by PM, and Decadent France will see what it can do.
Premier Paixhans wants every shipyard with a good proposal before end of july 1907 happy.
